SOCKS

Some of you know how much I like socks (ESPECIALLY SOCK MONKEYS - I STILL HAVE MY ORIGINAL SOCK MONKEY THAT MY AUNT MADE, PROBABLY ABOUT ALMOST 50 YEARS AGO). There is just something about putting on a quirky pair of socks - especially with sandles so you can see the design (I know my daughter is cringing at this - LOL). While she was in college, she worked at Mast General Store in Valle Crusis, NC:

- which, by the way, is one of the neatest places in the world. I remember visiting the store while she was working and it was warm, yet cool (makes sense to me) and I had birkenstock sandles with socks and when she saw me she blurted out (even before saying Hi Mom) - "I can't believe you are wearing socks with your sandles" - ha ha ha ha. Oh, the things we do to our kids. But, hey, that was the thing to do and if I have a neat pair of socks, the last thing I'm going to do is cover them up. Also, with the new knitting club we are trying to get started at Church - my ultimate goal is to learn how to make socks - what a blog that would be!!!!

I received a package in the mail yesterday from Ashley & Logan and it had a pair of the softest socks I've ever touched. They are aloe infused - how neat is that? I have not tried them on yet, but I think it is supposed to cool down quite a bit either tonight or tomorrow night and those babies will be on my tootsies!! Mine are light blue, white and lime green stripes.

One of my favorite pair of socks are these - I liked them so much when I bought them, I bought two pair.

Which leads to a funny cold foot story that I was going to post 2 weeks ago and then we had the pet dilema. I was at the store working that Saturday with my husband and I had just worn flip flops. I usually carry birks w/socks and flip flops because I still have problems with my feet and am constantly changing shoes to accomodate the comfort level. I'll update on the feet, hair, overall body situation another day. Anyway, it turned into a rainy cool day and my feet were freezing. Well, with my still ongoing feet discomfort, the last thing I need to do is add to it. As I sat in the back surfing - I had already completed my "store chores" - I was miserable. I kept thinking if only I had a blanket or something to wrap around them, I'd feel better. I looked all around, but I can tell you that in a store like ours, the closest thing to a blanket you are going to find is camo burlap - LOL. And, then I spotted the solution in a holiday container. I'll let the picture speak for itself!!!!

I GUESS THAT'S WHERE THEY GET:

"WHERE THERE IS A WILL, THERE IS A WAY"

In case I don't get back - I hope all of the Mothers out there have a Happy Mother's Day. And a special Happy Mother's Day to my Mother and my Mother-in-Law. Love you!!!!!
