As summer moves steamily along, I thought I would take you for a walk to see what's going on in our "holler":
I do believe our Hibiscus is blooming more than I can ever remember. I think it is such a sight to see - so much in fact...........
I bought two more to plant - I lucked out - first I saw the pink one with the darker center at Lowe's for $7.99. Since I was looking for a Butterfly Bush (ours died this past year after 10+ years), I thought - oh well, I'll just wait. I then went to Home Depot and didn't find a Butterfly Bush there, however, I found the same Hibiscus, in addition to a dark pink one - for $1.99 each - same size as the $7.99 one at Lowes. Talk about a bargain:
All of the Crape Myrtles are in bloom, especially this "dwarf" one!
After a third stop, I succeeded in finding a dark purple Butterfly Bush, a dark red Crape Myrtle and two blueberry bushes......seems like we have some work to do:
The garden is moving right along. The Sweet Banana Peppers are almost ready to pick - I've been researching some interesting recipes to try.
The cucumber bushes are now gone, so we'll enjoy the last of.......
And, last but not least, the fig trees are doing great.
