The car is packed and I'm off to see Ashley & June for the day!!
Right before crossing the State Line - you can see the Grand Guitar Building in Bristol, TN. Right after that - Virginia:
Then you can start clicking the miles off......
Part of the fun of travelling is seeing the sites......you just never know what you will see.....I thought this was quite unique - a propeller in the back of a truck!!!!
Finally reaching Wytheville, the drive is very pretty to Ashley's......starting with the warm welcome coming into town.....
And, then not too far from the cutoff to Ashley's road - I love this "hill" with the house on top - it's definitely unique!!!!
I wondered if June would remember me and come to me.........
And, yes - she seemed glad to see Grammie!!!!
Before we headed out, Ashley was going to "wrangle" the horses, but decided that could wait until later. They sure have some pretty horses....
I love the sites in and around downtown Wytheville, like the Big Pencil - if it hadn't been so hot, I was going to take June and get Ashley to take a picture of us under the Big Pencil - maybe next time!!!! As you can tell, I love the Big Pencil. Almost across the street is another office supply store called The Paper Clip!!!!
Then, there is their water tower - I also LOVE water towers!!! A few years back on a trip to upper Michigan area - I snapped pictures of all kinds of decorative water towers and then found out there are all kinds online - just google "water towers" and then choose "images" instead of websites and wow......................
Naturally, we had to shop and there are some fun shops to visit in Wytheville!!!!
Before we knew it - the day was over and it was time to head back south. I hate leaving, but it could be worse - they could be really far away where you would have to fly and I DON'T FLY.............
Until next time - I'll miss you both!! By the way - I meant to put this earlier - Ashley painted June's name & hung it on the wall - very stylish!!!!
